Norway the land of fjords and spectacular landscapes

Norway the land of fjords, trolls, Vikings, Sami, Northern lights, and spectacular landscapes

Yes, I love tourism and traveling! And I am always excited to discover each place’s unique beauty and treasures from history, culture, nature, outdoor activities to new and old traditions, gastronomy, legends, and local fairy tales, and many more aspects that a particular place has to reveal.

And following my passion for traveling, I’ve been to Norway, the land of fjords and spectacular landscapes… twice!

The first time about 2 years ago for a tour around Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Sweden, and Norway), mainly aiming Norwegian spectacular fjords and the second time last year, to celebrate Christmas with a couple of friends from Oslo.

And it happened to have a “crush” on Norway at first sight! :)

I felt suddenly attracted by its simplicity and genuine beauty – people, landscape, and nature.
Besides the breathtaking view over the daring fjords, I liked those “hairy” huts especially those ones fully covered with grass and blossom wildflowers. I loved a lot that “corner” of the world, but pitifully we were in hurry at that time and had no time to take a few more photos, which would be worth a lot.

It was a chilly sunny day, with fresh air, and pale traces of snow here and there, few timid tiny flowers daring to rise among the grass, all those impressive mountains around, the thrill of few birds… I felt like in another moment of time and space… absolutely amazing!

Norway, despite its peculiar shape - long and thin - which makes it even more attractive and diverse in various aspects, offers you the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of idyllic settings and exciting activities, amazing landscapes with majestic mountain peaks covered by snow, enjoy spectacular Northern lights, fascinating fjords and squawking seagulls flying above turquoise shimmering waters, learn about Norwegian people and culture, their history and old traces of Vikings, listen to local music and legends about trolls while tasting delicious moose soup or smoked salmon trout with baked potatoes, trekking thru mystic forests or fishing into foggy rivers, sleep in a hut in a secluded place, let yourself loose skiing on curvy slopes, breath some morning fresh air admiring lighthouses or taking long walks on a shore at sunset, and sooooo many more...

The Southern part of Norway has very nice small towns and villages with verdant greenery, lakes with turquoise water warm enough to take a (quick) bath, wild beaches, and cozy restaurants.

In the Northern part, you'll be fascinated by wilderness, snow-capped mountain peaks, and salmon trout in the rivers, and more often have the chance to witness the mystical Northern lights.

If you are curious about Sami culture and powerful outdoor experiences in nature, then traveling to Norway is the right choice.

Here you can let yourself loose, letting your senses free, while taking a trip with a Sami family, admire burning fires in front of typical huts, taste their delicious fried meat while listening to fascinating tales about their people and hard life, ancient traditions that were preserved and kept alive along the years, and legends about reindeer and mountains.

Now, thinking about Norway made me recall one of my old dreams - to build an outdoors camp with a large garden (I love landscaping, also), were to create a sort of summer camp for children and give them the chance to use their imagination and creativity in an open place, close to nature… where to enjoy a cozy, tidy, refreshing universe where to feel comfortable and energized in the middle of nature - to paint, sing, sculpture, take a chance for open classes of photography, bird watching, gym, and socialize.

Norway has so many absolutely amazing and perfect places where such a project could be developed very successfully, moreover bring benefits and smiles especially for all those little kids with unexploited imagination that under proper conditions can blossom amazingly!

By now it’s already springtime in Norway and we should see few sunbeams, bird trills, timid butterflies, dizzy little bugs rumbling around, whole nature blossoming, and waken up to life welcoming new visitors!
